Milena Stevanovic was born in 1980 in Niš, where she completed primary and secondary music school "Dr Vojislav Vučković" in the class of Prof. Zorica Ilić. She graduated from the Faculty of Arts in Niš in the classes of Prof. Ljubomir Mihailović and Prof. Mihal Budinski, as one of the best students. From the beginning of her studies she was a permanent honorary member of the Niš Symphony Orchestra and the chamber orchestras "Amoroso" and "Imperio", with which she gave numerous concerts and collaborated with many eminent soloists and conductors from the country and abroad.
She began teaching in 2003 at the "Vladimir Đorđević" Music School in Aleksinc and since 2005 has continued at the Music School in Niš. She has achieved outstanding results with her students, who have won a very large number of top national and international awards and laureate titles in both solo violin and chamber music (including many competitions and festivals in Serbia and the region, as well as Italy and beyond). In the 2018/2019 school year alone her students won 21 prizes at prestigious competitions, including several laureate awards, for which she was also awarded by the Niš Music School as the most successful teacher of that school year.
Her students have performed and continue to perform as soloists with various orchestras in venues such as Kolarac, Zala Bulgaria (Sofia), the Macedonian Philharmonic Hall, and others. She has served multiple times on juries for international and regional string competitions and festivals in Serbia and the region. From 2015 to 2019 she held the position of head of the Strings Department at the Niš Music School.
She is a long-time member and secretary of the competition board of the International Competition in Niš and one of its main organizers. Since 2018 she has been a member of the associations "Art of Strings" (by Lazar Miletić) and "Polifonija", working on projects for the promotion and popularization of classical music among young people (including masterclasses). She is also a member of the string quartet "F" and the violin duo "Energico" with colleague Ljiljana Kitić, with whom she performs regularly.
