Марко Зупан

Marko Zupan studied flute in Slovenia, Paris (with Pierre-Yves Artaud and Georges Alirol), and at the Mozarteum Salzburg with Irena Grafenauer. He has won numerous awards at national and international competitions and served as principal flautist with the Sudetská Filharmonie and Philharmonisches Orchester Brandenburg. As a soloist and chamber musician, he has performed in prestigious concert halls worldwide, including the Berlin Philharmonie, Wiener Musikverein, and Suntory Hall Tokyo. He has released two CDs and published orchestral flute excerpts arranged for flute quartet with Edition Svitzer. Zupan is the founder and artistic director of the "Ursus" International Music Festival and has been teaching at the Academy of Arts in Split since 2010. He currently lives and works in Berlin as a freelance artist.
